Charlotte runs a successful teaching practice, providing an outstanding quality of tuition to children and adults. She is highly valued as a talented teacher and enjoys seeing her pupils develop a life-long love of singing. Many students have gone on to attend some of the country’s best music colleges and universities, and forge their own careers in music. For over 20 years Charlotte taught at Sedbergh School, and currently she teaches from her North Lakes home, as well as at independent schools including Austin Friars St Monica’s School.
Whether you are new to singing or have experience, Charlotte can develop your voice. She covers the full range of ability, from young singers and beginners to adults and singers working towards higher level examinations such as diplomas. Charlotte’s repertoire knowledge is extensive, and covers a wide range of English, German, French and Italian song, opera and musical theatre, sacred and secular works, as well as jazz and contemporary songs. Her aim is to develop beauty throughout the vocal range.
Through the use of exercises, advice and work on repertoire, Charlotte expertly supports all aspects of singing, including breath control, posture, resonance, range development, articulation, stamina, and agility. She loves introducing her students to music which is new to them, and assisting in the choice of music and programme planning.
